The Votes Are Tallied!

As I've said before, thank you so much to everyone who entered a photo in our 125th-anniversary photo contest and to everyone who voted and truly made it a contest!  The five photos with the most votes are as follows:

Entry 1- On the Way Back from North Little Black

Entry 2- Back from the Island

Entry 5- A Misty Morning on Island Pond

Entry 10- Boathouse in the Mirror

Entry 19- Too Good to Pass Up

These five will now be judged by our Panel of Experts, and I'll announce the winner on Saturday.  (Since Saturday is the first day of my WFR course, however, please forgive me if the announcement comes at the end of the day.  I signed up for the course quite a while after I wrote the rules for the contest, and I didn't realize they overlapped.)  As I said, I'm not giving myself a vote since I know who sent me each photo; my vote will be cast for the photo that received the most votes from you guys.

Best of luck to our five finalists!

Voting Closes Soon!

Just a reminder that if you haven't voted for your favorite photo yet, you only have until the end of the day Monday.  We've received over 150 votes so far!  Thanks to everyone who has sent me a vote; you guys make these things fun.

(This was a sunset over Pushineer Pond last year.  It has nothing to do with the contest; I just think the post would be dull without some sort of pretty picture to look at.)

Voting is Open!

That does it, folks!  Entries for the 2011 photo contest are closed.  We had a great turnout, with 19 photos entering the running.

The fun continues, though, because now you get to take a look at all the entries and send me an e-mail with your favorite.  Please, please only send me one vote per e-mail address.  I'm not a vote-counting machine; I'm just one girl.  I'm going to delete duplicate votes from single addresses before I tally everything up.  That being said, though, please feel free to cajole your friends, Romans, and countrymen into voting for your photo (once) as well.  Voting stays open until March 1; at that point, I'll post the top 5 to be judged by our panel of experts.  (To keep things fair, I'll stay out of the judging altogether.)

Best of luck to everyone who entered, and a warm thank you for making the first half of our first photo contest a rousing success!

Last Day to Enter the Photo Contest

The last day to enter for a stay at Red River is today! I need your e-mailed entries by midnight tonight, and judging will start tomorrow.

Even if you don't enter, please do stop by http://www.redrivercamps.com/Photo_Contest_2011.html between tomorrow and March 1, and send me your vote for your favorite Deboullie picture.

Best of luck to everyone who's entered so far and to those of you with last-minute entries!

Photo Contest Reminder

I'm not a big proponent of nagging, but I did want to mention one more time about our photo contest.  You have one more weekend to find (and e-mail me) that great photo you took on your last trip. I need your entries by next Tuesday if you want the chance to win a weekend at Camp; that's right around the corner!

See here for rules and to enter.  Best of luck!

Photo Contest

I alluded to our 2011 Photo Contest in an earlier post, but I think it deserves one of its own.

For those of you who, for whatever reason, didn't get our Christmas card this year and aren't a Facebook fan, this will be news.  For the rest of you, hopefully it's a reminder!

2011 marks Red River's 125th year, which is a pretty big deal!  (It's been in the Brophy family for 31 of those; it still amazes me that we've had it for almost a quarter of its existence.)  To celebrate a century and a quarter, we're starting the year off with a photo contest.  I want to see some of the great memories you guys have of the Deboullie township.  Contest rules are available on the Red River website, but here's a quick synopsis:

As long as it's a picture of the Deboullie Township, and you have the copyright, you can enter it. Other than that, anything goes. (I received an picture of a painting yesterday, which I hadn't even thought of, but it meets the criteria.) We'll have all of you judge them starting in February, and in March, one person will win two days at Camp for two. It's that simple!

So please, keep the entries coming; I haven't gotten as many as I'd like yet, and there are only three weeks left until the February 1st deadline.  I know a lot of you have great photos; I've seen some of them!  Don't be shy; we're all friends here.
